Dining at Miku Toronto is nothing short of a culinary adventure, offering an exquisite blend of tradition and innovation. This Japanese sushi restaurant stands out for its fresh ingredients, exceptional service, and a uniquely elegant atmosphere, making it a top choice for sushi enthusiasts.

A Classic Start with Miso Soup

My dining experience began with a warm bowl of Miso Soup, priced at $5. This starter was a comforting introduction, embodying the classic flavours one expects from miso soup. While similar to what I've had at other sushi restaurants, it provided a soothing start to the meal, setting the stage for the more unique offerings to follow.

The Miku Signature Selection

The highlight of the meal was undoubtedly the Miku Signature Selection, which comes at a cost of $40. This selection is not just a meal but an experience, reminiscent of Omakase, where the chef selects an assortment of sushi to surprise and delight the diner. This platter included ten meticulously chosen pieces of sushi, each showcasing the chef’s expertise and the freshness of the ingredients.

Oshi Sampler

In addition to the signature selection, I opted for the Oshi Sampler, priced at $18. This platter included six pieces of sushi – two pieces each of Salmon, Ebi, and Saba Oshi. Each variety had its unique flavour profile, expertly crafted to enhance the natural flavours of the fish. The Aburi Oshi sushi, or torched sushi, was particularly noteworthy. The gentle torching brought out a rich, smoky flavour that was a pleasant contrast to the typical raw nigiri I usually prefer.

Exceptional Service Enhances the Experience

The service at Miku Toronto was impeccable. Our server was not only knowledgeable about the menu but also exceptionally friendly and attentive. He provided excellent recommendations and was diligent in ensuring that our dining experience was nothing less than perfect. Subsequently, it was my first visit to Miku Toronto with my best friend, and our server played a crucial role in making sure our sushi cravings were thoroughly satisfied.

Ambient Seating and Atmosphere

Additionally, the seating arrangement at Miku Toronto contributed significantly to the dining experience. We were seated in a comfortable booth/chair setting near the wine display wall, which added an element of sophistication to our meal. The view of the kitchen and sushi chefs at work provided a glimpse into the artistry behind our dishes, enhancing our appreciation of the meal.

Convenient Parking Options

Furthermore, while Miku Toronto does not have its own designated parking, the availability of nearby parking options—including underground lots, garages, and street parking—ensures convenience for all diners.

Superb Value for an Exquisite Dining Experience

Overall, the total cost of my meal, including 16 pieces of sushi and a cup of Miso Soup, came to $63. Considering the quality, quantity, and the overall dining experience, this price represents excellent value, especially in comparison to typical Omakase prices which are higher and often include fewer pieces.

Conclusion

In conclusion, Miku Toronto exceeded my expectations in every way. The restaurant offers a perfect blend of traditional and modern culinary techniques, resulting in a sushi experience that is both authentic and innovative. For anyone looking for an exceptional sushi dining experience in Toronto, Miku Toronto is a must-visit destination. Whether you are a seasoned sushi lover or new to Japanese cuisine, the flavours, service, and atmosphere at Miku Toronto are sure to impress.

Note: This review reflects my personal sushi experiences in Canada and is not a comparison to the sushi available in Japan, which I have yet to explore.
