My meal began with the Zangi ($7.00 CAD), which unfortunately was a lacklustre start. The dish, meant to be flavorful and zesty, was unremarkable and under-seasoned, missing the essential sparks that Japanese cuisine is known for.
Continuing with the Original Tonkatsu with thick noodles ($15.50 CAD, plus an additional $2.00 CAD per egg), I encountered further dismay. The broth, ideally rich and savory, was bland and had an unpleasant soapy texture. This not only detracted from the overall flavour but also impacted the thick noodles, which absorbed this subpar quality.
The Spicy TanTan with thick noodles ($15.50 CAD) followed, promising a kick of spice but delivering only a whisper. The lack of robust seasoning made the dish forgettable and failed to meet the standards of authentic Japanese spicy cuisine.
